WorkLocal Partnership with Smith Systems
Smith Systems and the Land of Sky P20 Council collaborated on a new marketing initiative (#worklocal) to expose our emerging workforce to manufacturing careers. Two versions of posters were created with pictures of Smith Systems employees, local graduation credentials, and quotes reflecting the employees’ career passion for the purpose of being hung at two Transylvania County High Schools.
A3 Education & Workforce Symposium
On Wednesday, November 8, 2023, you are invited to the region’s first Educational and Workforce Symposium. The A3 Event (Align, Aspire, Achieve) will focus on our region’s innovative practices for educational attainment, and was planned by six local organizations alongside two statewide organizations.

This report contains data visualizations of our region’s progress on our 2030 goals for credential attainment and educational alignment. Data sources were the myFutureNC county profiles from 2020, 2022, and 2024. Comparisons are made between 2020, 2022 and 2024 data by county, and, where available, with the State of North Carolina, and also with our 2030 goals.

Our latest publication is a double-sided flier that answers the most common questions we get asked, including “What does P20 mean?” and “What does the P20 Council do?” It also highlights some of the ways in which our education and workforce ecosystem has improved since our formation.
