WorkLocal Partnership with Mission Health
Mission Health and the Land of Sky P20 Council collaborated on a new marketing initiative (#worklocal) to expose our emerging workforce to healthcare careers. Three versions of posters were created with pictures of Mission Health employees, local graduation credentials, and a quote reflecting the employees’ career passion for the purpose of being hung at three Buncombe County High Schools.
P20 Council Awarded Duke Energy Foundation Grant
The Duke Energy Foundation has awarded $35,000 to the Land of Sky P20 Council. As part of its effort to strengthen and uplift communities, the Foundation has awarded P20 because of its mission to improve economic vitality through talent development.
P20 Council Awarded DOL Grant
The Land of Sky P20 Council is proud to announce that they will receive $1,441,125 Million from the U.S. Department of Labor Workforce Opportunity for Rural Communities through “Project Collaborate: Addressing the Workforce Gap through Inclusive Training Opportunities”.

This report contains data visualizations of our region’s progress on our 2030 goals for credential attainment and educational alignment. Data sources were the myFutureNC county profiles from 2020, 2022, and 2024. Comparisons are made between 2020, 2022 and 2024 data by county, and, where available, with the State of North Carolina, and also with our 2030 goals.

Our latest publication is a double-sided flier that answers the most common questions we get asked, including “What does P20 mean?” and “What does the P20 Council do?” It also highlights some of the ways in which our education and workforce ecosystem has improved since our formation.
