Recently have been to back to back conferences and this was one of the most rewarding, mostly due to the audience that attended. I would love for more time or structured opportunities to network.

It was really perfect and so well done. Logistics planning can be cumbersome but when done right it makes absorbing the content of the conference so much easier. This was perfect.

Fantastic first symposium and I’m looking forward to more. One other suggestion I do have is possibly running his twice-a-year.

Well organized !

Nice job. I was not sure about the quick “canned ppt” format, but it really worked– nice to be able to see all presentations rather than picking one or two.

I enjoyed the event. Speed dating didn’t feel rushed.

This was an excellent conference! Many of the programs were inspiring–especially morning sessions. I am a bit sad that other people/groups in the region were not invited (especially rural surrounding counties) to also know what is going on for inspiration and also potential program growth for speakers. Someday we can think about a session on how to prepare for a household income from multiple sources (seasonal, gig, growing hobbies for income, using assets like land and back bedroom, etc.)

Aligning, Aspiring and Achieving to meet our Land of Sky Education and Workforce Goals!

Who should come?

    • Employers – Learn more about how to get connected to schools and postsecondary entities to provide input and gain access to the skills your future workforce is acquiring during training.
    • Educators and Administrators from Early Education thru Postsecondary Education – Discover innovative and collaborative practices happening across the region that you can scale in your own organization.
    • Community-Based Organizations – Tap into a network of collaborators that can help your organization enhance its impact on our workforce preparedness.
    • Government – As the top employers in our region, learn more about how training providers are preparing your future workforce and driving local economic vitality as well as learn how you can help strengthen your community’s efforts in this work

On Wednesday, November 8, 2023, you are invited to the region’s first Educational and Workforce Symposium. The A3 Event (Align, Aspire, Achieve) will focus on our region’s innovative practices for educational attainment, and was planned by six local organizations alongside two statewide organizations.

In addition to hearing from 20 local organizations that are deploying successful strategies along the full academic continuum, attendees of A3 will also learn about effective advocacy techniques to support early education through postsecondary education, how to bridge connections between employers and educators and what the data is showing us in terms of our region’s strengths and opportunities to improve our current and future labor pool climate. This event is a culmination of the planning team’s successful completion of the NC Workforce Development Leadership Initiative which is an intensive, six-month professional training program. Graduates of the program received the professional designation of Certified Workforce Developer by the National Association of Workforce Boards.
