P20 contracted with Constructive Learning Design (CLD) to create a video series called Careers That Build Communities.
The Careers That Build Communities project had a noble goal of connecting students with career opportunities in Western North Carolina but was disrupted by Hurricane Helene. It is meant to serve as a hub for connecting students with career opportunities in WNC through stories, work-based learning experiences, potential employers and other resources.
Despite the challenges, Jay Korreck from CLD played a crucial role in keeping the project on track.
His expertise, vision, and powerful storytelling have been key in capturing our region’s challenges, resilience, and the enduring hope we hold for our students and their futures.
We believe these videos will not only inspire future students to discover the incredible opportunities within our CTE programs, but also serve as a vital recruitment tool for teachers and staff across the region.
Here you will meet Kajlynn & Harry, students at Hendersonville High School who have a passion for health care. Katrayl who wants to be his own boss in the informational technology sector. And Carter from Madison High School who play a crucial role in his community helping recover from Hurricane Helene. All of these impressive students were able to find their passions while taking advantage of CTE classes at school.
